We are DSI. We exist because...
We Know
that in our world today, many people living with disabilities have immense, unmet needs.
We Believe
that all people deserve equal rights and necessary support to have their needs met and place them on a path to reach their full potential.
We Envision
a world where every person with a disability can live a full life by receiving adequate care and support from their local communities and is empowered to contribute to their society.
We Strive
to work together with others aiming for the same, while simultaneously sparking a global conversation about the value, beauty, and potential within each person who has a disability.
The Need
People with disabilities are one of the most marginalized and vulnerable populations in our world today, especially within low and middle-income countries.
They often face stigma, discrimination, and a lack of services and support. To be able to work toward a better tomorrow, we must understand the realities of today.
What We Do
At DSI, we believe that together, we can create a more inclusive world for some of those in need of this most. We work closely with local partners to increase professional capacity and build sustainable services.
Our disability training programming focuses on training in-country disability leaders and teachers to build inclusive education, in order to increase educational opportunities for children with disabilities.
