Return to Cambodia, 2019

June, 2019 -- Hey folks! The US school year has ended and has therefore afforded me time to make a return trip to Cambodia, my third since 2016. This year we are returning to Cambodia to conduct some in-person interviews and observations on the effectiveness of our training from last summer to better gauge our next steps. We will be meeting with various partners and training participants who have taken our content and their own to train staff and families in their own organizations and communities on strategies and information related to people with disabilities. We are also preparing to lead further training as necessary as well as share some of the same information as last year with organizations who were unable to attend our sessions last summer.

Here's a glimpse into our transit to get back to Cambodia this week:

And here's a short video we recorded as we sat for a bit in a shady spot on the riverfront of the Mekong. Phnom Penh sits along the Mekong River that runs from China through Laos and on to Vietnam after leaving Cambodia. During the rainy season, the rainfall is so immense that the river changes direction and flows back up stream!
